Textile waste management is a major environmental challenge today, linked to the rapid increase in clothing production and consumption.
According to the waste hierarchy, the priority is to prevent, reuse, and then recycle in order to extend the lifespan of textiles.
In Luxembourg, the majority of collected textiles are exported, while only a small proportion are reused locally.
This study analyzes both waste streams and household consumption habits.
Its objective is to better understand these dynamics in order to support the transition to a more circular and responsible fashion industry.
